Distinguishing it from Type A (rectangular) and Type C (shortened rectangular) variants, Type B Hall Anchor features a cylindrical (round) cross-section shank.

Advantage:

The stockless design can provide efficient stowage. It is ideal for vessels where deck space and anchor pocket fit are important.

It performs well in sand, clay, and gravel and other common seabed conditions in global ports and anchorages.

Its balanced shape ensures easy handling by standard windlass and chain systems.

It is typically made from high strength cast steel or forged steel, often paint coated or hot dip galvanized for corrosion resistance. It is built for long service life with low maintenance needs.

It is less expensive than HHP anchors, and suitable where HHP is not required by the regulations.
