A grade 2 stud link chain (also known as U2) is a medium-strength marine chain widely used for anchoring and mooring applications on commercial vessels, offshore platforms and barges. It offers a balance between strength, weight, and cost, making it suitable for various marine operations.

It is typically constructed from carbon or alloy steel, with heat treatment to enhance mechanical properties. The common diameters range from 12.5mm to 122mm, with larger sizes available upon request. Here are some typical properties for reference:

Hardness: typically in the range of 180-230 HBW
